6 – Kingfishers

Hello and welcome to Class 6! We are called the Kingfishers. My name is Mr Narborough and I am Class 6’s teacher. We also have Miss Smithard who is our wonderful teaching assistant who works with us and teaches the class on a Wednesday during my planning time. This year, we will be learning about a variety of topics in a fun and interesting way. We will be having visitors in school and going on trips, to enhance our learning experience and make our learning as interactive and as fun as possible! Our learning this year will include…

  • Autumn 1 – The Stone and Bronze Ages
  • Autumn 2 – The Water Cycle and Ecology
  • Spring 1 – The Iron Age
  • Spring 2 – Comparing the UK and an EU country
  • Summer 1 – Ancient Egypt

Summer 2 – Maps and Globes

As well as the topics above, we will also be learning about lots of other subjects and completing lots of projects around these. Please see the Curriculum section on our website for additional information.

Our PE days are on a Monday and Wednesday so children can come to school in P.E. kit on those days. We check our planners on a Monday so please sign these when you read. Spelling homework is sent out on Monday and is due back in by Friday.

This is currently by ninth year teaching and I have taught previously in Year 4 and Year 3. My five summers working abroad for Camp America is what inspired me to pursue a career working with children, and I still love it as much now as I did back then. In my spare time I like playing with my two cats, reading a good book, discovering new places to eat out… and watching lots of shows on Netflix!
